More than just a "21st Century Girl," Willow Smith's sophomore release and its accompanying video gave me flashbacks of the mid-80s MTV music videos. (As if "Hungry Like the Wolf" married "I'm Still Standing" and produced a stepchild to "Thriller" or another apocalyptic video I can't think of.)
Daughter of pop royalty Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Willow (@officialwillow) seems to have enough talent, support, production value and marketing know-how to go far. Justin Bieber thinks so; she is currently his opening act on tour, and he gives her props for her fresh style!
Just think: Will started out as DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, singin' about how "parents just don't understand". Like, totally eighties but still relevant today.
