Well, try enough new products and you are bound to come up with one you don't like.
Here in the jungle, it's been hot... over 90 degrees. When it is hot, we love to try water, but plain water gets boring. We like flavored water, but some are better than others. This Wednesday's Nom Nom Review is all about owater, a flavored water water distributed by O Beverages of Concord, Mass.
The good news: owater has crisp, clean packaging and a variety of flavors. I tried peach. More good news: Owater has no sugars and no sweeteners, and natural fruit flavor. It also contains electrolytes and purified water, and is a local product. As a sports drink, you'd think it was a great choice.
The bad news: the peach flavor tests about as much as peach as a peach-flavored lollipop. The water tastes crisp but the peach flavor is overwhelmingly metallic and has a strange aftertaste on the tongue... almost sweet and metallic at once. If you don't like the flavor of a water, this particular owater has as much appeal as... eating a banana peel.
One banana (out of five, five is the highest) for peach-flavored owater. I'll stick with no flavoring or vitaminwater zero for a healthy, replenishing drink.
Thanks for swinging in! Writing with a bunch of smart young people, we blog about the monkey business of life with tweens 8-15, and love anything shiny and new. Book/movie/game reviews, shopping, nom nom snacks, OMG news and issues, pop stars, and YouTube LOLs are fair game in this jungle.
