Thanks for swinging in! Writing with a bunch of smart young people, we blog about the monkey business of life with tweens 8-15, and love anything shiny and new. Book/movie/game reviews, shopping, nom nom snacks, OMG news and issues, pop stars, and YouTube LOLs are fair game in this jungle.

Allykatzz.com is the cat's meow for tween sites

Want a fun and safe online place to go and meet other tweens? Ally Katzz (www.allykatzz.com) is a cool website that allows you to create an avatar (no real names allowed), make friends and chat/leave messages, be a reporter, create your own page, enter contests, and even send a message direct to the White House!
We tried out Allykatzz and had a fun time creating our own profile and page (cool designs!), and had fun reading other girls' pages too.  Kids can talk about their lives, write songs, upload pictures, do some news reporting and book/movie reviews, and just speak out about what's on their mind.
The site is monitored by adults and college students, who review every word and photo before posting (so there's a "time delay" to posting that takes some getting used to).  I like that there are older girls helping  younger girls be safe online.
Check it out and tell us in the comments what you think, and what your user ID is so we can be friends!  Ours is myshinymonkey, of course!
