I've been a big fan of Improv Everywhere for many years, and they inspired me (us - our family) to join the Boston Society of Spontaneity as a result. Our pillow fight video is here. A self-professed theater geek and lover of creativity, I love making people think - and laugh - and step outside their comfort zone to see things in a new light.



One thing I like about Improv Everywhere is not only their brilliant creativity, showy flair, and logistical genius ("We cause scenes"), but their ability to take the usual and make it, well, unusual AND funny without hurting anyone or swearing profusely or being obscene. They even cause scenes around eating lunch in a mall, among many other topics. Subscribe to IE's YouTube channel and you'll see what I mean. Fair warning: IE's videos are like a box of Girl Scout cookies: impossible to take just one and walk away.

These folks in this video were studying at the NY Public Library, minding their own business until someone called the Ghostbusters... IMHO, not one of their funniest, but I love their quick plug for the public library funding at the end.  Play with a purpose.
