With celebrity fragrances netting the stars even more profits than a world concert tour, shiny pop star Justin Bieber is hoping to spray his way into this niche market this June, with a portion of the sales to go to charity. (His YouTube channel created just for the perfume, not yet released, already has nearly 1800 subscribers, so top that, haters.)
According to various stories on the 'net, Bieber's perfume titled "Someday" has a "citrus gourmand" scent and is packaged in a bottle with a heart shaped flower on tip. Trade magazine Womens Wear Daily (WWD) estimates his sales may exceed $30 million this year, based on the success of other celeb fragrances like #1 top perfume Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds, Derek Jeter's "Driven" and Beyonce's "Heat". Other celebs in our noses: Rihanna, Victoria Beckham, Christina Aguilera, Antonio Banderas, Tim McGraw and even Oscar winner Hilary Swank. In fact, the top 10 bestselling celebrity perfumes from 2010 brought in $215 million in the U.S., according to Euromonitor International. Yup, that's $215 million.
