My Shiny Monkey reflects my personal interests as they relate to tweens (8-14) and is a PR-friendly blog. I'm open-minded by nature, and eager to try new TWEEN related places, events, products and services that are a good fit for a wired family. See "About Us" tab for a more detailed description.
- I love recommending new and shiny things and places. We have about 2500 fans/followers/friends each month via this blog, Twitter (@myshinymonkey) and our Facebook page.
- I won't write or tweet about things I don't love, and can't promise you a review/post or a rose garden.
- I strive for entertaining and informative posts and try to stay ahead of the curve. What's new with you?
- I have a troop of tweens blogging with me. Their opinions are their own, and I edit only for clarity and readability. They love free stuff. I have two boys (12 and 10) and three girls (9, 9 and 13). They blog Fridays. You can pitch them too.
Julie Dennehy (that's me) is available for speaking engagements and private consulting, particularly on topics related to marketing to tweens and utilizing social media to reach out to parents and consumers. We like to travel, will try new things, and just ask that you give me enough lead time and details up front to make an informed decision. You can email me anytime at myshinymonkey@yahoo.com.
I live south and west of Boston, Massachusetts, and can't travel over 45 minutes to events without compensation. I don't blog for compensation, and I can't lose money, you know?
Everyone is different and entitled to their opinion. We promise not to say anything bad about you on our blog, Facebook personal or blog's fan page, or Twitter feed, but we won't post anything that we don't believe in or feel connected to.
We'll give you a fair trial and tell you within ten days what we think... hopefully some valuable free advice and feedback as a 20-year marketing consultant, too.
Pitch me anything related to parenting and tween boys and girls 8-14:

More jungle rules: Financial compensation is considered on a case-by-case basis, but generally we do not accept money for reviews.
- Advertising and promotional (giveaway) ideas welcome. We like pleasing people. We are people pleasers. You must ship prizes directly to the winners.
- Shipping tape sticks to our fur. Sorry, we cannot return whatever you've sent us.
Mostly, we are clever, funny monkeys and aim to please. If you are nice to us, we'll return the favor.
