Thanks for swinging in! Writing with a bunch of smart young people, we blog about the monkey business of life with tweens 8-15, and love anything shiny and new. Book/movie/game reviews, shopping, nom nom snacks, OMG news and issues, pop stars, and YouTube LOLs are fair game in this jungle.

Shake it, shiny monkey...

We love to dance and shake it up like no one is watching, so we were thrilled to hear about an opportunity to review a CD by the stars of Disney Channel's hit television series "Shake It Up". Bella Thorne (the redhaired one) and Zendaya (the sassy brunette) created this CD for kids like Liv so they can enjoy the music from their favorite hit show no matter where they go.

Shake It Up: I<3 Dance is a fun, high-energy collection of 12 dance-able, monkey tail-shaking tracks - all music from the show right at your fingertips.  You can

In addition to Bella and Zendaya, Disney stars Selena Gomez, Bridgit Mendler, Roshon Fegen and Caroline Sunshine lend tracks along with Coco Jones (one of our faves), McClain Sisters, and many more. The soundtrack will give you hours of fun music for only $9.99 on iTunes or $9.49 on Amazon.

"Contagious Love" may be one of our new obsessions (see vid below with some pretty awesome dancing)... but you make up your own mind. Here's a list of all the tracks so you can preview online and tell us what YOU think... we want to know!

The songs featured on this release are:
1. Contagious Love (Zendaya and Bella Thorne)
2. This is My Dance Floor (Bella Thorne and Zendaya)
3. Beat of My Drum (Zendaya)
4. Blow the System (Bella Thorne)
5. Afterparty (Roshon Fegan and Caroline Sunshine)
6. Holla At the DJ (The DJ Mike D REMIX) (Coco Jones)
7. These Boots Are Made For Walkin' (Olivia Holt)
8. Sharp as a Razor (McClain Sisters)
9. Future Sounds Like Us (Dove Cameron)
10. I Can Do Better (Y.LA)
11. Shake It Up Theme Song (Cole Plante Reboot REMIX) (Selena Gomez)
12. We're Dancing (Alex Ghenea 3.0 Remix) (Bridgit Mendler)

Contagious Love on Disney Video

Review results: We are going to give this CD four out of five bananas... one more banana would be granted if there were a more diverse mix of music or even a ballad, or some world music beats, or something that broke up the style of music a teeny bit. We love our beats to be as diverse and eclectic as we are!

Disclosure: Thank you to Child's Play Communications who provided us with this Disney CD to review on our blog. Other than the CD, we were not compensated for this review and our opinions are entirely our own.
