TURTLE
IN PARADISE
By Jennifer L. Holm
Turtle in Paradise
is about a girl named Turtle. She lived with her mother in 1935 in New Jersey. When her mother works as a housekeeper for a rich family who doesn’t like kids, Turtle has to go to Key West to
live with her Aunt Minnie and her cousins Beans, Kermit and Buddy.
When she
goes to her Grandma Fillies house, she finds a treasure map in the old termite-eaten
piano. Turtle, Kermit, Beans, and Bean’s friend Pork Chop are overjoyed! They
set off at once to find the treasure, but when they get there some very unexpected
things happen. Eventually Turtle gets reunited with her mom but yet another tragedy
happens in the end.
I really like this book because of three reasons: First is
that it’s really exciting as it has lots of funny phrases and words. Second is
that the people’s names are really weird and cool. The last thing is that this
book is very adventurous.
